A Solid Foundation

Pine started with a talented and visionary engineer, the collaboration of a well-appointed team, and an unwavering faith that all good things come to those who work hard. Ted Hines, founder of Pine Instrument Company, opened the doors of his new company in Grove City, a small rural town just north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1962 as a machine shop.

A graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering, he had a passion for designing and developing new products. While enlisted in the Navy, he enrolled in electronic technician schools which would later prove to be instrumental. Machine shop work, engineering design and assembly were the services provided at that time.

Continued Investment.   Continued Growth.

Today, Pine Electronics, Inc. operates independently under the leadership of its President, Joe Hines.   It produces low to medium volume electronic circuit board assemblies for many customers worldwide. Recent capital investment of industry-leading MyData Pick and Place equipment allows for quick change over and flexibility to accommodate customer needs. Pine’s OEM customers have grown to depend upon the high quality printed board assemblies that require unique functionality. The customer base of OEM’s serve a variety of industries including mass transit,  instrumentation, industrial, mining, and rail.

In May 2015, the community mourned the loss of Pine Instrument Company founder, Ted Hines. His hard work, vision, and legacy live on with his son, Joe, as company President.  Joe began learning the business at an early age, and continues to lead and support growth with the original core values in mind ~ Act with uncompromising honesty and integrity; Treat all with dignity and respect.  This continues to hold true and is evident with the longevity and loyalty of our customers.
